French Government bans UK lorries from entering the country for 48 hours – then announces a “new protocol” to be launched today (Monday 21st Dec 2020). PLUS the latest on the EU Haulage legislation due 1st January 2021.

On Sunday evening, France closed is borders to all lorries and ferries entering from the UK for 48 hours due to heightened concerned about the new variant of coronavirus.

However, on Monday morning the French Government said it will establish a protocol “to ensure movement from the UK can resume”.

The Prime Minister is due to chair a meeting of the Government’s emergency committee as queues grow in Kent and concerns spread about possible food shortages over Christmas. The latest news can be read here and Isis Insurance will keep you updated.
